BellaRu Catering

Whether you’re catering a large event or an intimate family gathering, whether you’re looking for a unique date night cooking class, or whether you want to experience an authentic farm dinner (or brunch!), BellaRu Catering can make it happen! Chef Maya Rotman-Zaid has been catering and involved with the restaurant industry for twenty years. Since opening BellaRu Catering in 2017, the authenticity of the food served has been paramount. 90% of food is made from scratch; BellaRu’s kitchen even features a corn grinder made from volcanic rock sourced from Mexico.

In case you wanted to learn to cook like a chef, BellaRu Catering also offers several cooking classes a year. And if you were looking for a special farm-fresh meal to share with loved ones or friends, BellaRu Catering also holds farm dining at a local North Shore farm. Plus, new in 2024 is BellaRu's food truck, perfect for events or gatherings.

From ethnic to elegant is BellaRu Catering’s tagline; and that’s exactly what you’ll find. With menu items inspired by the diverse staff Chef Maya works alongside, to the beautiful presentation and classy events, consider BellaRu Catering for your next event or gathering.

BONUS FACT: Beginning in 2020, BellaRu Catering began sourcing food surplus from over 50 different companies and organizations, including local and regional BIPOC farms. This food was then donated to the public, eventually leading BellaRu Catering to becoming the second-largest food distributor in Lake County. The work of keeping families fed allowed BellaRu Catering to employ over 25 full-time employees who had been laid off from their food-industry jobs. At the height of the Pandemic, 2,700 families were receiving free grocery bags each week from BellaRu Catering. Crucially, bags were put together with the diversity of the families in need in mind; allowing them to retain a sense of normalcy. BellaRu Catering still provides food and pre-packaged meals to individuals and families in need, serving between 150-300 families per week. Over 7 million pounds of food have been saved from the trash and donated since 2020. To Chef Maya and BellaRu Catering, it’s not just about giving, it’s about serving.
