Halloween in Highland Park
Just two weekends left to Halloween! Here’s what’s happening this spooky season in Highland Park:
Highland Park Hauntings: October 21, 5:30 - 8:00 PM
Travel the haunted trail at Larry Fink Memorial Park…if you dare! Tickets are $20 resident/$25 non-resident, and may be purchased online.
Pumpkin Paintings: October 22, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Bring the family to paint pumpkins at Madame ZuZu’s! Tickets are $8 and may be purchased online.
The Monster Bash Tennis Party: October 22, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Kids ages 5-14 are invited to the annual Halloween Party at the Deer Creek Racquet Club. Come in costumes and play tennis. A prize will be given to the Best in Costume. Tickets are $30, and may be purchased online.
Downtown Highland Park Trick-or-Treating: October 27, 3:00 - 6:00 PM
Enjoy trick-or-treating at participating Downtown Highland Park businesses, including special activities at Port Clinton Square and Renaissance Place.
Drive-in Movie - Hocus Pocus: October 27, 6:00 - 9:00 PM
Hop in the car and cruise on over to the Recreation Center of Highland Park for our Drive-In Movie series! Tickets must be purchased in advance. View the movie inside your car, or bring lawn chairs to sit outside your car. Sound played via loud speaker, no transmitter. Tickets are $30/car, and may be purchased online.
Ravinia District Candy Stroll: October 28, 2:00 - 5:00 PM
Visit participating Ravinia District businesses for trick-or-treating and activities! The stroll also features four interactive Harvest Vignettes for visitors to sit and take selfies to post on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok. The Vignettes will be located at the northeast corner of Broadview and Roger Williams, the southeast corner of Pleasant and Roger Williams, on Roger Williams just west of Happi Sushi, and the southeast corner of St. Johns and Roger Williams.
Halloween Railroad - All Aboard!: October 29, 10:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Families are invited to stop in and watch model trains travel around the “Spookytown” tracks, decorated with Halloween scenes and figures. This Halloween-themed model railroad from the North Central ‘O’ Gaugers Model Railroad Club also features a special Thomas the Tank Engine track with Thomas, Percy, and Diesel. Kids are welcome to attend in costume!
Scary Miniature Golf: October 29, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Come out in costume and receive a free round of miniature golf! NOTE: Registrations can only be made 7 days in advance. Registration will be available online beginning October 22.
Halloween Happy Hour at Madame ZuZu’s: October 29, 6:00 - 8:00 PM
Come to Madame ZuZu’s for a Halloween Happy Hour featuring spooky drinks, pastries, and an all-ages costume contest. Free / Register online.
Family Storytime - The Most Haunted House in America: October 30, 12:00 - 1:00 PM
Come in costume to Madame ZuZu’s for a reading of Jarrett Dapier’s picture book, “The Most Haunted House in America.” Will you win the costume contest? Free / Register online.
West Ridge Trunk or Treat: October 31, 10:30 AM - 11:45 AM
Welcome all little ghosts, superheroes, pop stars, and professionals! The annual preschool trunk or treat will take place in the West Ridge parking lot, and lots of goodies will be shared! All ages; plan to park in the north lot and walk to the south lot with your children. $2 / register online.
City of Highland Park Trick-or-treating: October 31, 3:30 - 7:00 PM
Kids may trick-or-treat during official hours on Halloween, 3:30 - 7:00 PM. Please review safety tips with your little ones to ensure that everyone has a fun and safe celebration. Turn on your porch lights to show that you are welcoming trick-or-treaters.
Madame ZuZu’s Cinema Series - The Nightmare Before Christmas: November 3, 7:00 PM
The @enjoyhighlandpark team is split on whether this Tim Burton classic is a Halloween or Christmas movie…but either way, we love it! Catch a special showing at Madame ZuZu’s. Come in your PJs for free popcorn! Tickets are $5 and may be purchased online.
